Well, we have made it to the next leg of our journey. We are actually at a town called Buellton, CA just outside of Solvang. We are at at Flying Flags RV Resort and Campground. This RV Park truly has all the bells and whistles.
We decided to splurge and get the super-premium site which includes a barbecue, picnic table, and fire pit, the last of which is something that Colson really want to do.
Remember I said in the last blog that RV sites are sometimes typically rated on how nice the bathrooms are? The bathrooms, at least the ones near us, each are its own bathroom with the toilet, shower, and even hairdryer, all of which is behind a locked door. It has own little minimart and its own little deli, though the deli happened to be closed today.
The other thing that some folks talk about are the pool and/or hot tub that may come with the RV Park. The first RV Park that we say that had a small pool and hot tub which were comfortable. The second RV Park in Paso Robles had a midsized pool with no hot tub. This RV Park has three pools, a hot tub, and a small waterpark for the little ones. Go figure.
As a side note, if you are happening to drive down south through San Luis Obispo and Pismo Beach on 101, and if you can afford to wait, the gas is a good $1 cheaper here than the other places.
Oh, I was talking about the little bells on El Camino Real. Apparently, this highway goes from San Diego all the way up to Sonoma. I’m and I have to do a little bit more research to see, but the bells are placed about a day’s ride in the old days from a safe area, such as a fort, to another safe area.
Bells, bells, bells. You are getting better. Time to learn CA history.
